Babysitters on HelpNest are independent. Their profiles show what they’ve shared and the status of each screening check. Here’s what to look at, and what to confirm yourself:
Each check shows Not submitted, Submitted, Under review, Verified, Expired or Requires attention. Only Verified means HelpNest has reviewed it.
If a babysitter holds a check, ask to see the original document and the date it was issued.
Ask to see current certificates, and talk through your emergency plan, allergies and contacts.
Ask for references from families they’ve cared for, and meet before the first booking.
